
Since 2006, Herkimer has captured five Regional Championships (men's & women's 100 yard breaststroke and women's 200 yard breaststroke events) and three Mountain Valley Conference records in the men's 100 yard breaststroke, men's 200 yard butterfly and women's 800 yard freestyle relay. The women's team has earned NJCAA National Academic Team of the Year honors for the following seasons: 1998-99, 1999-00, 2000-01, 2002-03, 2006-07, 2007-08 and 2008-09. The men's team has earned NJCAA National Academic Team of the Year honors for the following seasons: 1998-99, 1999-00.
The teams have also made appearances at the NJCAA National Championship meet each year with 8 top 16 finishes at the most recent championships. Several swimmers have also received numerous Academic All-American awards.
The season begins at the beginning of October and runs until the beginning of March. Practices consist of a variety of sets for a comprehensive training regimen. At the beginning of each season time is spent of breaking down each stroke and proper technique is stressed so that each athlete is a confident in their abilities and becomes a well-rounded athlete.


CRISTMAN POOL
The General's men's and women's swimming and diving team competes in the facility's six-lane, 25-yard pool, which features a one meter diving board and a Colorado electronic timing system. The pool is also used for instruction, recreation and is open to the community.
