Daniela Barrera, March Athlete of the Month

Earning female athlete of the month is freshman swimmer Daniela Barrera.  Barrera performed her best down the stretch at the National Championship meet earning 9 personal best times out of 10 races, missing that last best time by just one second.  Head Coach Vicki Brown commented on her determination and focus during the four day Nationals stretch, “I could not be more proud and in awe of her – she is so competitive. She has the internal drive to continuously improve and reach her goals.  At Nationals, she set the program’s 50 BA record 3 times! She also earned the most points for the women at the championship meet.”
