Haley Cornine

Sophomore track and field standout Haley Cornine has been named the Herkimer Generals Green & Gold Athlete of the Month for May after closing out the season with strong performances on both the regional and national stage.

Cornine delivered an impressive showing at the Region 3 Championships, earning a third-place finish in the 400-meter dash against some of the top competition in the region.

She continued her success at the NJCAA Division III Track & Field National Championships, where she competed in the heptathlon and finished sixth overall with a score of 2,096 points. Her performance earned her a national medal and accounted for all of Herkimer’s team points at the championship meet.

Cornine’s versatility, determination, and ability to perform in high-pressure competition helped lead the Generals throughout the season. Her accomplishments during the month of May made her a deserving selection as the Herkimer Generals Green & Gold Athlete of the Month.
