Six Herkimer Baseball Players Earn All-Region Honors
Six Herkimer Generals Baseball players earned Region III All-Region honors, including four first-team recipients.
Freshman outfielder Marvin Hill (Schenectady, NY) led the Region with 12 HR and a program-record 69 RBI in just 39 games played.
Sophomore designated hitter Hugo Kohnhorst (Queens, NY) finished tied-for-second in Region III with 10 HR and 53 RBI.
Sophomore second baseman Jaden Madrid (Rochester, NY) emerged as one of the best two-way indfielders in the country, leading Region III with 45 stolen bases, while recording a .402 batting average and a .973 fielding percentage.
Freshman Brendan Rusnack (New Paltz, NY) left his mark in his first season, emerging as the team's ace with a perfect 7-0 record over 51.2 innings and a 2.44 ERA.
Freshman third baseman Shiryu Sato put together a well-rounded season at the hot corner, finishing top-five in Region III in home runs, RBI, walks and on-base percentage.
Sophomore catcher Michael Schleider ended his career with the Generals on a high note, finishing with a .989 fielding percentage behind the dish. He also recorded six home runs and a .740 slugging percentage, both marks top-10 in the region.
