Generals Sweep Four-Game Series Against Mohawk Valley

The Herkimer College baseball team continued its strong spring campaign with a dominant four-game sweep of Mohawk Valley Community College, outscoring the Hawks 44-5 across the series.

Herkimer opened the series on April 26 with a convincing 12-2 victory on the road. The Generals jumped out early with two runs in the first inning before erupting for four more in the second to take complete control.

Adam Weiss led the offense with three hits and two RBIs, while Joey Gennario also collected three hits and drove in two runs. Brandon Hauk added two hits and two RBIs, and Christian Mikulski finished with three RBIs.

The Generals were aggressive on the bases, stealing seven bags in the opener. On the mound, Donatello Badalamenti earned the win after striking out five and allowing just two runs over five innings.

Later that day, Herkimer completed the road sweep with a 4-2 victory behind another strong pitching effort. Kyle Kristel scored twice and collected two hits, while Adam Weiss added two hits and an RBI. Jude Flint provided a key insurance run with a solo home run in the sixth inning.

Justin Peralta started and allowed just one hit over five innings while striking out five. Landon Seipp closed the game with five strikeouts over the final two innings to earn the save.

The series shifted to Herkimer on April 27, where the Generals' offense exploded once again in an 11-1 run-rule victory. After Mohawk Valley scored first in the third inning, Herkimer answered immediately with an eight-run inning to break the game open.

Brandon Hauk highlighted the rally with a three-run homer and finished with four RBIs. Thomas Lemonis added two hits and three RBIs, while Jude Flint drove in two runs. Mack Harris and Kyle Kristel each recorded two hits in the win.

Brendan Rusnack was dominant on the mound, striking out eight over five innings while allowing just one unearned run.

Herkimer capped off the series with its most dominant performance of the weekend, rolling to a 17-0 victory in five innings.

The Generals pounded out 15 hits and received contributions throughout the lineup. Adam Weiss finished with two hits and an RBI, while Christian Mikulski drove in three runs. Thomas Lemonis added three RBIs, Rekuto Shirakata had a two-run double, and Kanta Miyabe delivered an RBI double in the fourth inning.

Kyle Kristel scored three times and stole three bases, while Jude Flint, Mack Harris, and Brandon Hauk each crossed the plate multiple times.

On the mound, Kyler Ackert struck out seven over four scoreless innings, and Billy Cummings II closed out the shutout with two strikeouts in the fifth.

Across the four-game sweep, Herkimer showcased dominant pitching, timely hitting, and aggressive baserunning as the Generals continued to build momentum heading deeper into the season.
