Herkimer Generals Capture NJCAAE Division III Madden NFL 26 National Championship

HERKIMER, N.Y. – The Herkimer Generals Esports program added another national title to its growing legacy Tuesday night as Dewayne Adams claimed the NJCAAE Division III Madden NFL 26 National Championship, defeating Gordon State College's Isaac Oneal in a thrilling three-game championship series.

After dropping the opening game, Adams battled back to win the final two contests and secure the Division III crown.

Gordon State took Game 1, 49-35, as Oneal's Pittsburgh Steelers defeated Adams, who was playing as the Baltimore Ravens.

Facing elimination, Adams responded in dramatic fashion in Game 2. Using the Detroit Lions, he edged the Philadelphia Eagles 49-46, drilling a game-winning field goal as time expired to force a decisive third game.

The championship came down to an unforgettable finish. Controlling the Tampa Bay Buccaneers against Gordon State's Pittsburgh Steelers, Adams engineered a late comeback before converting a game-winning two-point conversion with just eight seconds remaining to claim a thrilling 37-36 victory and the national title.

The championship marks the third national championship in Herkimer Generals Esports program history, further establishing the program as one of the NJCAAE's premier Division III competitors.

Adams' resilience throughout the finals was on full display, overcoming an opening-game loss and delivering two clutch performances, including one of the most memorable finishes of the NJCAAE season, to bring another national championship home to Herkimer College.
