Generals Earn Postseason Honors
The Herkimer County Community College men’s basketball program was well represented in the postseason awards as three Generals earned recognition from both Region 3 and the Mountain Valley Conference following a strong 2025-26 campaign.
The Herkimer County Community College men's basketball program was well represented in the postseason awards as three Generals earned recognition from both Region 3 and the Mountain Valley Conference following a strong 2025-26 campaign.
Sophomore guards Kenny Freeman and Xavier Cardona were both named First Team All-Region 3 and First Team All-Mountain Valley Conference after leading the Generals on both ends of the floor throughout the season.
Freeman established himself as one of the top players in Region 3 with his scoring ability, athleticism, and leadership. He consistently delivered in key moments and played a major role in Herkimer's success against top conference competition.
Cardona also earned top honors after putting together an outstanding sophomore season. A versatile player capable of impacting the game in multiple ways, Cardona provided steady leadership while contributing offensively and defensively throughout the year.
Sophomore Josiah Smith was also recognized for his contributions to the Generals, earning Third Team All-Mountain Valley Conference honors. Smith's hard work and consistency helped strengthen the Herkimer lineup during conference play.
The awards highlight the success of the Generals program and the impact the sophomore class made during the season.
