Dave Sargent

Bio

Dave Sargent has built a strong reputation throughout the Northeast for his leadership, defensive expertise, and commitment to player development at both the collegiate and high school levels.

Sargent recently completed his third season with the Herkimer College Generals men’s lacrosse program, serving as Defensive Assistant before taking over as Defensive Coordinator during the 2025 season. During his time at Herkimer, he has played a key role in shaping the program’s defensive identity and overall team success.

Prior to joining the Generals, Sargent spent four seasons as head coach at Southington High School. In three completed seasons, he compiled a 76.36% winning percentage while helping elevate the program into one of the top teams in Connecticut. His tenure was highlighted by an outright CCC Championship in 2023.

Before his time in Connecticut, Sargent served as an assistant coach at Johnstown High School, where he helped guide the 2019 girls lacrosse team to a standout season and a Section II Championship.

In addition to his scholastic and collegiate coaching experience, Sargent has also coached on the club circuit with Scorpions LC and Dark Knights LC, continuing to help develop athletes at the regional and national levels.

Known for his attention to detail, defensive mindset, and passion for building strong team culture, Sargent continues to make an impact on the game through his dedication to student-athlete growth and program success.
