Herkimer Controls Hudson Valley with Dominant 17–5 Victory
The Herkimer Generals men’s lacrosse team continued their strong run with a convincing 17–5 win over Hudson Valley Community College, using a fast start and relentless pressure on both ends of the field.
The Herkimer Generals men's lacrosse team continued their strong run with a convincing 17–5 win over Hudson Valley Community College, using a fast start and relentless pressure on both ends of the field.
Rick Attleson led the offensive effort with four goals, pacing a balanced attack that kept Hudson Valley on its heels throughout the game. Attleson found success finishing in tight and capitalizing on scoring opportunities as the Generals steadily built their lead.
Lenox Richard contributed as a playmaker, dishing out two assists and helping keep the offense flowing. His ability to draw attention and move the ball created space for teammates and added another dimension to Herkimer's attack.
In goal, Teddy Friend turned in another dependable performance with eight saves. He came up with key stops when needed and helped anchor a defensive unit that limited Hudson Valley's chances and controlled the tempo.
Defensively, Tavyn Malchak made a major impact with his physical play and hustle, collecting nine ground balls while applying constant pressure. His efforts disrupted Hudson Valley's possessions and helped Herkimer quickly transition from defense to offense.
The Generals controlled the game from start to finish, combining efficient scoring with strong defensive play to secure the 17–5 victory as they continue to build momentum.
THe Generals finish 3rd in NJCAA Region 3 and will travel to the second place Genesee CC Cougars on April 25, 2026 at 12pm to play for the Region 3B Men's Lacrosse Championship and a spot in the NJCAA Lacrosse Championships.
