HERKIMER, NY – After winning two games in a row to Mohawk Valley and Erie, the Herkimer Generals women's lacrosse team have now lost their last two games at home, most recently losing 15-1 at Wehrum Stadium on Saturday to Monroe Community College.
Herkimer 4-5 (2-0) are 3-3 in their last six and 3-5 in their last eight games. On Saturday, scoring the lone goal for the Generals was Courtney Canavan (Baldwinsville, NY), netting her team-leading 32nd goal of the season which is third best in the nation. However, Herkimer was outscored 12-to-1 in the first half and 3-to-0 in the second.
In goal for the Generals was Kristin Menge (Warwick, NY). In 60 minutes the sophomore saved seven shots.
The next game for Herkimer is Saturday (4/26). They'll travel to Genesee to take on the Cougars. The Generals need some help to get into Regionals, but have the defeat Genesee on Saturday to get in. The match starts at 1 p.m.
